Insurance offered car hire - or check for $100. What to accept?
The other car rearended me. Their insurance offered me either a car hire while mine is mended - or a check for $100. They say the check would cover the same as five days. But what if the car is in for longer? I can borrow a car, but would it be better to accept the car hire? I don’t want to end up paying anything for car hire - will the insurance really cover the cost of it? They say so…but…what if it takes more than five days to mend my car? Would $100 be better? I am so new to this, never been in a wreck before. I feel the insurers are hiding something, and I can fall for it very easily. Any help appreciated!

Take the car! The insurance company has to pay for the repair of your vehicle, but remember that they want to cut their losses in any way possible, so they will try to cut their expenses where possible. I’m not sure where you are, but there are not many cars you can rent for $20 a day and that pay for everything. Make some calls to some local car rental companies before accepting money in this situation.
Read your insurance policy and see if there is any time limit on a rental car while yours is in the shop. If no limitations take the rental car for ever how long it takes until your vehicle is ready to be picked up.
